Career Transition

Change. It’s often necessary. And it’s good, at least some of the time. But change always provokes anxiety. The four month long ENCORE program is built on that understanding. It is designed to be a guide, a support, and a resource. The process is comfortable and confidential. Clients work with accomplished, peer-level coaches who personally lead them through their development and monitor their progress. Through Encore clients put themselves into the marketplace in the most dignified, appropriate and effective manner.
Our foundation is built on years of experience in the retained executive search industry. We understand exactly how executives “really” get hired, and how the process has always worked. But the primary difference between us and many others in the field brings us back to change. The change here is profound and irreversible and its magnitude is enormous. The change is the conquest of our world by technology, and the phenomenon of social media in particular. Social media enables individuals and companies to meet and share information anytime, anywhere, shattering the barriers of time and distance. Its effect on job hunting and the career transition process for senior executives is irrefutable. Effective use of social media is the most efficient way to expand networks, build influence and establish personal brand identity. To deliver the optimal preparation for the client to most effectively use social media, LeaderBridge has developed a deft, sophisticated, and experiential proprietary system called thinkIN2it, which is at the heart of its Encore program.
But, before examining the way our Encore program utilizes this new game changing element, let’s establish the baseline, the conventional approach. It’s comprised of:
Reviewing, evaluating, updating and rewriting resumes and biographies. This severs twin goal. First, we gain an overview of who the client is. Second our team works with the client to improve the quality of the documents to make certain they are presented in the most compelling way to inform the reader of the client’s experience, skills and achievements
Honing interview skills, techniques and strategies. This not only elevates the quality of the client’s performance, it gives the client confidence in those abilities. This self-assurance produces poise and a sense of control that enables to client to perform at peak their capacity.
Connecting with the executive search consultants and researchers in the client’s area of interest. With our extensive experience in the search community we can deliver these contacts as only an “insider” can.
Here too, there’s another key distinction between us and our competition. LeaderBridge does not “outsource” its work to mass producers. Each client works with a knowledgeable, experienced LeaderBridge professional who will not only help create the desired work product, but will go about it in a caring, personal way, that always considers the fragile state of the client’s emotions during the transition process
Having already established its edge in regard to the traditional service renderings, LeaderBridge wholly pulls away from the pack by combing its other offerings with our proprietary thinkIN2itprogram. Meetings take place using our electronic meeting technology making participation easy and convenient. Guided by elite, guest speakers and coaches, clients work within our private social network to learn the culture of social media and how to most successfully navigate and safely employ it, without fear or confusion. We demystify such seeming imponderables as: What’s a tweet? How do you gain voice authority without speaking louder or more resonantly? What’s the difference between a wiki and microblog? Clients will emerge from the training, with a deep understanding of major platforms and technologies, and an insight as to which methodology will work best to build their personal brand.
Through Encore and its thinkIN2it program clients lean how to expand their networks and gain access where they had none. And in doing so, they’ll create opportunities previously unknown to them. Finally, after participating in the thinkIN2it program, clients will emerge as more relevant and attractive candidates, armed with new tools and capabilities that will serve them well in whatever choice they make.
Though we cannot guarantee to find clients a job, we can guarantee this, we will use all the experience and knowledge we have, and devote every resource available to optimize their chances. And to our clients we make one more promise. We will be there for you.

Program Details
Course description:The program initially demystifies social media and helps participants “get it!” The program examines how information is gathered and shared, influence is gained or lost and the results of the process. Personal branding is emphasized and light is shed on the need for individual participation in the medium and the results of failing to do so. The program’s unique experiential design allows participants to experience “eureka moments” that enlighten, inspire meaningful action and to retain the knowledge gained in the process. The program is for senior leaders only. The program is not remedial or focused simply on teaching “tools’ or platforms and is designed to provide a learning context and understanding that serves as a foundation for future leadership development and participation. Meetings conveniently take place using our electronic meeting platform so everyone can participate in the privacy of their home or office.

Program overview:The program employs a number of instructional modalities including: interactive presentations, case studies, guest speakers, practical labs, open dialogue, a private social network (PSN) for community knowledge sourcing and self-directed learning. Participants and guides (instructors) operate as a “community” sharing ideas, answering questions and offering feedback and information in a manner that helps participants embrace the culture of social media and understand how information is shared and resourced within it. Select participants serve as subjects in personal branding case studies where our professional researchers examine and evaluate their current individual “brand impression” and “digital footprint.” Results of these case studies serve as discussion points in which basic concepts and strategies of personal branding are discussed within the community. In addition, there are “technical labs” that highlight a number of the current more popular tools such as Twitter and LinkedIn and where basic strategies and techniques are examined and discussed from the perspective on personal branding.
The program is not the end of the participant’s learning – it is the beginning. Learning, participating and perfecting the use of social media is an interactive process. This program is an effective start to that end.
Program length: The program lasts slightly more than four weeks and meets electronically twice a week at agreed upon prescribed times. Between meetings participants are encouraged to complete self-directed learning. All meetings are recorded in the event a participant misses a session or wishes to review a previous session.
Topical description: Participants are provided with a generational and anthropological context that helps explain the gap in participation between the generation currently in leadership and the generation rapidly ascending to power. Participants examine how social media is changing the way information is gathered and shared and how influence is gained or lost as a result. Participants examine how the current leadership paradigm is shifting and why leaders must begin to change the way they communicate with both their internal and external audiences if they are to remain effective and relevant in the coming decade. Personal branding and “buzz” is emphasized throughout the program and high levels of interaction, participation, practical application and connectivity are encouraged and maintained. The program uses a variety of instructional modalities to produce a three dimensional learning experience which transforms the program itself into a “temporary social media community” that helps support and reinforce the overall learning experience.
Desired participant outcomes:
- Demystification of the connective power of social media
- “Eureka moments” when the awesome connective power of social media is understood

Who should participate: Senior executive leaders who do not yet understand how social media is and will be affecting their lives and business. Leaders in transition who want to use social media to help find their next career or job opportunity. Leaders who want to participate in social media more actively but do not know how or even why they should. Leaders who seek to begin to create a social media strategy for themselves. Leaders who seek to position themselves at the forefront of their industry sector for the coming decade. Leaders who seek to learn how to more effectively communicate with both their internal and external audiences. Leaders who want to unchain their dependency on so-called social media experts who are beginning to drive internal business strategies without a full understanding.
What is required for success: Participants who are curious, willing to challenge and to participate. Participants willing to “get out of their comfort zone” and look beyond entrenched personal concepts of leadership and communications.
